I usually throw a Frisbee for my dog in the park, so when I heard our next PE lesson was a Frisbee lesson, I thought it would be easy. I was wrong! It was Ultimate Frisbee – a fast, crazy game with two teams of seven players. Each team tries to get the Frisbee to the end of the pitch. It’s a non-contact sport, but there’s a lot of running and jumping! Play it because… If you want to get fit, Ultimate Frisbee is a great exercise to do it! Imagine a game of volleyball, but with a small ball, about the size of a tennis ball. Now imagine that you can’t catch or hit the ball with your hands or arms. That’s Sepak Takraw! When you play, you use your feet, knees, chest or head to control the ball. The game comes from Southeast Asia. Our PE teacher is from there and he taught us how to play it. We’ve even got a school team now! Play it because… When you play this sport, your body gets some exercise and so does your brain! I’m a huge fan of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books, so when our PE teacher said it was time to play Quidditch, I was excited. Just like in the books, there are seven players on each team, but of course they don’t fly around on broomsticks – they run around with them between their legs! There are three hoops at each end of the pitch. When you throw the ball through a hoop, you score points. Play it because... It’s great for teamwork, it’s good exercise, and you’re sure to have a laugh!
