Many school students all over the UK take part in after-school activities. There are so many different activities to choose from that some students may have a hard time deciding which to join. However, there are some steps you can take to help you choose if you don’t know what the right after-school activity is for you! The first thing you need to do is decide what type of activity you want to take part in. Are you someone who likes to be active every day? Then you may prefer something with a lot of physical activity, like a sports team or a dance club. If you like making things in your free time, there are writing, art or sewing clubs, too. Maybe you want to join a club that will help you learn. If that is the case, there are plenty of after-school activities in school subjects that you will enjoy! The next step in finding the right activity is this: make a list of your interests and also the things that you are good at. This will help you find activities that are fun, but that will help you develop useful skills too. For example, you might already be a talented painter, but joining the art club will help you get even better at painting. No matter what activity you choose, you are sure to improve as you practise. After you make a list of your interests and skills, write down the activities that match the things on your list. Then, write why you want to do each activity.
